'Best Sports Website' Webby Winner.

Once a year, the greatest downhill BMX racers meet in the Zion Desert to participate in the ultimate event for the sport: Red Bull Rampage. Red Bull contacted our team to help create an interactive experience for the event that gives users an innovative look at the race using geo-data from the riders.

We had a member of our team on the ground, working with the riders, overseeing the technology and fastening during each run. Over the course of 3 days, we connected each participating rider to Garmin GPS devices, logged the rides into our computers and oversaw the data transfer to the Microsoft site team. The site gave users an unprecedented birds-eye-view into the event and full control when reviewing the rides, using rewind and fast-forward playback to get a closer look at the riders and their descents. Together with Red Bull, Microsoft and Garmin, we approached the project as an opportunity to design and develop an interactive platform for sharing the Rampage experience.
